Product Description
Composition
Each ml contains Tilmicosin (as Tilmicosin Phosphate INN) 250 mg.
Pharmacology
Tilmicosin is a broad spectrum semisynthetic bactericidal macrolide antibiotic.
It interferes bacterial protein synthesis by binding with 50s ribosomal subunits.
Indication
Poultry
For the treatment of respiratory tract infections, such as- Mycoplasmosis, Fowl
Cholera & Infectious Coryza etc.
Livestock
For the treatment of respiratory tract infections caused by Actinobacillus
pleuropneumoniae, Actinomyces pyogenes & Mannheimia haemolytica etc.
Dosage & administration
Route of administration: For oral administration only.
Poultry: 1 ml/ 3 liter drinking water daily for 3 days.
Calves: 1 ml/ 20 kg body weight daily for 3-5 days.
Or, as directed by the registered Veterinarian.
Contraindication
Contraindicated in poultry & livestock hypersensitive to Tilmicosin.
Warning & precaution
Do not allow horses and other equines access to drinking water containing
Tilmicosin.
Side effects
Common: Transient reduction in water intake.
Rare: Not known.
Use in pregnancy, lactation & lay
Risk & necessity should be considered during administration of this medicine in
pregnant & lactating animal.
Drug interaction
With medicine: Concurrent use of other macrolides & lincosamides is
contraindicated.
With food & others: Not known.
Overdose
No symptoms of overdose have been observed in poultry given 5 times higher
than the recommended dose. No symptoms of overdose except slight decrease
in the milk consumption have been observed in calves given 5 times higher than
the recommended dose.
Withdrawal time
Poultry: Meat- Meat must not be consumed up to 12 days after administration of
this medicine. Calves: Meat- Meat must not be consumed up to 42 days after
administration of this medicine.
Storage
Store below 30° C temperature and dry place, protected from light.
Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
